Harlequin Restaurant

When a restaurant goes above and beyond they deserve recognition. It was our last night in Barbados and we planned to dine at Harlequin Restaurant Barbados. I unfortunately felt unwell so my husband called to cancel our reservation and instead ask if he could pick up takeout. Hearing I was unwell, the very kind owner/manager drove the food all the way out to us in Worthing in the middle of a busy service. If he is reading this post, thank you so much, it was delicious. And to all travellers, be sure to put this restaurant on your must try list.

Food is not bad watch out for being asked for a tip twice. It is automatically added to the bill when you get that then they ask again with the card machine so effectively double tipping

Easily the best meal we had in Barbados! Big shout out to the chefs who are preparing high standard food. Excellent customer service. Be sure to book table in advance!

Lovely dinner and great service from Kimberly. We started with spring rolls and shared the beef tenderloin. Even shared was a big portion.

The service was 10/10. From the time we walked in, we felt at home. Angela was amazing. She was funny, very accommodating & genuinely went all out to make sure we had a good time. The food and drinks were also very good.

Fantastic atmosphere and staff. Everyone was lovely. We visited a few times. Can recommend the calamari, mahi mahi and the apple crumble. Enjoyed every meal.

A real treat. Consistently wonderful every time I go. Slightly less casual than many places I frequent when in Barbados, but still welcoming and relaxed. Love it. Have only ever had their fish dishes but I've no doubt the other food is perfect, too.

Great service and amazing ambiance. A good spot for a casual dining spot on the Gap. Will definitely come again, next time I visit Barbados.

Top quality food customer service, always greeted with a smile.
The ambiance is charming with a soft background music of contemporary songs not detracting from personal interactions for patrons.
The owner meanders through the restaurant as he ensures all is well.

Great restaurant; the food is amazing and the staff are super-friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a really nice vibe too. We ate here on several occasions during our stay and I highly recommend it.

Every time we are in Barbados we make a trip to eat at Harlequin's. We have been enjoying fantastic food, service and the atmosphere for over 20 years. The extensive menu provides something for any taste in casual surroundings with a wonderful soft jazz accompaniment.

Very disappointed.shrimps tasteless, pate again no flavour as was the vegetables with the mains. Mains themselves were tasty, but the overriding feel was poor. Service excellent.sadly won't return

Visited Harlequin twice in our week in the gap and both times had an excellent experience.
The first night we walked up to a full restaurant and expected to be turned away as there were no available tables but Keith the owner was working the podium and told us to return in a half hour. After a stroll through the gap we retuned to be seated and have probably the best waitress we’ve experienced in Barbados make our evening outstanding Thanks Angela! The food was delicious, we were checked up on often, water glasses never empty, and felt appreciated.
On our last night we decided to return….
Again greeted by Keith and even though it was again a full house he managed to find us a table (which by the way he cleared himself)
This night however they were short two servers and just as busy as ever.
I have never witnessed an owner work as hard as Keith did that evening, clearing tables, seating customers, checking in on the guests and basically truly caring about his business!
We missed Angela as she must have been off but were served by Jenne (sorry if I got the spelling wrong) Again the best service imaginable……we order a bottle of wine first and she came out quickly to apologize that she had to wait I minute for the bartender to return to reach down a couple of glasses which we had a laugh about.
Again even being short handed the service was outstanding the food came out quickly and was delicious again, and as the restaurant slowed down Keith came over to check in and we had a lovely visit with Jenne and told them both they deserved a glass of wine and to put their feet up!
Do yourself a favour and visit this restaurant at least once in your visit to Barbados…you will enjoy yourself and I’m sure you will be treated as well as we were!

Just got back from this restaurant. The staff especially Angela are epic fun oriented, friendly, and so welcoming. This place also wins on speed of service, from ordering to tucking into my barbados hot pot no more than 5 mins. The food was well prepared and perfectly spiced. Good value for money, we would definitely eat here again.

Make a reservation a day before.
They are busy for dinner.
We had the red snapper & flying fish.
The samosa appetizer was nice too.

Never disappoints! Service & food were amazing. Large tender coconut shrimp dinner was delicious.

I've been coming here for over 10 years now. The food is exquisite, the staff are very friendly and the location is brilliant if you're staying in The Gap. Definitely book in advance as evenings are busy (says it all). The owners are lovely, thoughtful and I can't compliment the venue enough. Thanks again and looking forward to the next visit (possibly a last night treat before I leave).

Great food and friendly atmosphere, not pushy at all, unlike some other establishments in the Gap.

We came in last night with my two young children and my parents. The food was amazing as was the service. They are absolutely fabulous our waitress was amazing as was the order that also made sure that everything was ok. Definitely would recommend to everyone
